Abstract

The Klebelsberg settlement in Szeged has a specific, local cultural heritage and community that is of remarkable value today. The work of Count Klebelsberg Kuno significantly determined the development of the settlement, this tradition is still known among the older generation. The inhabitants of the settlement, mostly belonging to the Baby-boomer generation, still maintain their respect and traditions for the Minister of Culture. A generational gap can be observed on the site, between the members of the Baby Boomer and Generation Z. For the older generation, it is difficult to involve young people in community life and to pass on the values of the past. During a research, it became clear that help would be needed in order to establish a generational connection. In order to solve the generational problem, I developed a project plan that can be used to introduce local heritage to high school students in a youthful, playful way in the framework of a team competition. The team competition took place on October 20, 2023, with the participation of the mentioned two generations. The organization and realization of the competition and the learning of the lessons meant a great experience for me, and it can also serve as a useful model for solving generational problems. In my study, I present this project, analyzing the lessons learned.
