What makes a good leader? The evolution of leadership theories

Abstract

Expectations of a leader, the image of the ideal leader, have constantly changed in response to public opinion, social and economic circumstances and challenges. In my study, I present the evolution of leadership qualities and expectations of leaders in a nutshell, from the "great man" idea of the mid-19th century, through classical and modern leadership models, to the most recent ideas, which already reflect to the pandemic.
