Abstract

The development of technical achievements in library science also found space in public collections. Infocommunication techniques provide countless opportunities for libraries to develop to expand their readership. The essence of the library is not only the offer of general library services but also the emotional appeal, the motivation that encourages reading.
Both traditional and digital methods help the activity of educating readers, about the new possibilities in social media, which have become an integral part of our lives. The new interactive medium, on which the influencer activity enjoys great success, provides a wide consumer reach, which increases their impact, and the Internet players also help certain services of the libraries.
In light of this, we want answers to the following questions:
• How can social media and influencers encourage people to read or go to the library?
• How can libraries effectively support reading and information literacy in a rapidly changing world where the spread and development of digital tools are inevitable?
• To what extent and how do book influencers contribute to educating readers, and do they cooperate with libraries?
During our research, to present the use of social media platforms of the Hungarian Bács-Kiskun County Military József Library (Kecskemét). We plan to supplement the good practices of the library with in-depth interviews with Hungarian book influencers, to recommend them for literary and cultural mediation, and to present the points of intersection between the two groups.
