Abstract
Generations' attitudes to the local values in Szeged Klebelsberg-Settlement
The population of Szeged Klebelsberg-Settlement developed a lively community life in the district built in the 1920s. The memory of these local tradition and values were the motivation for the reorganisation of the civil community life of the district, the development of its institutional framework and the revival of the honour of Kuno Klebelsberg, after the regime change from the 1990s. However, it is the work of the Baby-boomer generation that has kept these traditions alive, with younger generations especially the Z-generation not or only partially involved in these community programmes. The presentation will focus on the reasons for this, drawing on interview research on the subject. There will also be presented a project proposal targeting young people: the planned programme aims to engage theZ-generation in local values thus strengthen their local identity.
