Abstract

The coronavirus epidemic has a major impact on personal relationships. In my research, I reveal the impact of the cultural groups of the Ferenc Erkel Cultural Center on their habits and activities. The aim of my essay is to get a clearer picture of how the communities reacted to this situation: the pandemic brought the groups closer or away from the public cultural institution in Gyula. In addition, I am looking for an answer to what good practices have been born under the restrictions in the cultural sphere. My target group is partly the communities of the Gyula Cultural Center, which I asked with a paper-based questionnaire, and I compared the results with the Csabagyöngye Cultural Center, another outstanding public cultural institution in Békés County, where I examined the changes in the activites of the communities. On the whole, my research seeks positive, useful solutions with which the cultural education sector responded to the challenges of the epidemic.
