Abstract

It is advisable to combine the transmission of fixed knowledge elements of the teaching tradition (connections of composition and concept, the problem of genre, etc.) with the intention that the students get into a deep intellectual and emotional relationship with the text. The creation of meaning, individual questioning, and interpretation is encouraged if The Tragedy is not (only) introduced to the class as a literary work but also explored for the stage possibilities of the text. In addition to the theoretical-analytical text exploration, it is also worth using the methods of creative-creative cognition that require theatrical and cinematic thinking when teaching Tragedy.
