Beyond an “Excel-Sheet” Feminism Conceptual and Political Challenges of Intersectionality Today
Main Article Content
Abstract
“Excel-perspective” – this is what we call the contemporary, individualized and quantified form of intersectionality. Like an Excel sheet, it merely counts the experiences of individual oppression. In this paper, we discuss the history of intersectionality from the identity politics struggles of the 1960s to today’s intersectional political practices. Then we set out our critique of contemporary, individualist, “Excel-perspective” intersectionality, and present a possible complex approach to intersectionality.
