Abstract

In our article we examine the methods to motivate employees to take part with an increased commitment in internal process developments based on lean management philosophy. We want to determine the motivation factors, which makes the involvement of employees successful. Our biggest challenge is the individual aspirations as primary objective for workers in the western production culture, whilst in the Japanese collectivist society it is beyond question to embrace the corporative challenges. Therefore adequate involvement and motivation strategies are suggested to be created, otherwise the changes implemented by lean methodology will not fulfill the management expectations, as reported in another research results. In our article we summarize the required steps to increase the level of commitment and the theoretical background of our research.
