Abstract

Participation in higher education had been the privilege of the men for centuries, but today we have more female than male students in the universities. The so-called glass ceiling phenomenon, however, still exists in the researcher career: the rate of women in the higher academic ranks and among the researchers is low. In my paper I analyze the breaks and obstacles of women researchers on the basis of literature, surveys and a small group interview.
