Abstract

On 3 November 2022, the „For an Easy-to-Read Internet” conference was organised by the Erasmus+ European project Train2Validate partners in Munich, Germany, with the aim of discussing and sharing experiences, latest research and good practices on ICT accessibility on the internet. The SDI Munich campus hosted the current edition of the conference series. Participants included professionals from the fields of education, information technology and communication, as well as easy-to-understand language checkers. The focus of the event was on how to make the internet and digital communication as accessible and understandable as possible for different user groups, in particular people with intellectual disabilities and people with visual impairments. A number of experts and researchers gave presentations on different aspects of accessible language, such as the use of visual communication, information accessibility and the accessibility of online content, webergonomics. The event also included a number of presentations offering practical guidance to participants on the topic of reading and writing for easy reading and writing. In addition, round table discussions and workshops allowed participants to share their experiences and innovative solutions in an interactive way.
