Abstract

The significance of Kálmán Mikszáth (1847–1910), one of the greatest masters of Hungarian prose writing, can be measured not only by his short stories, short and long novels, but also by his publicism, which is less mentioned in public discourse. However, few manuscripts of his articles remained for posterity. However, two autographs containing unpublished parts of Mikszáth’s articles published in the press were recently discovered. The presentation and analysis of these shows the publicist Mikszáth’s way of thinking and writing practice.
