The importance of singing folk games in kindergarten education
Main Article Content
Abstract
We should place special emphasis on keeping our own folk traditions alive, since there is no more tried and tested alternative method of development that is innovative and personally engaging for the current generation of children. These games were previously developed by the children themselves, the rules were dictated by opportunity and necessity, and so they were embedded in tradition, but with the possibility of constant renewal. Folk games are thus profound manifestations of human behaviour in which we can discover the instinctive laws of the education of our offspring. What does the child need? What is the best way to develop them? What are the moments along which emotional, intellectual and physical development can best be promoted? These eternal questions, to which we seek answers in a variety of approaches, are brought into focus in our study in the light of folk singing games.
