Abstract

From the very first day of school, students are constantly faced with challenges that can be stressful, often causing anxiety for some students, and this can affect their performance at school. At the beginning of schooling, a sense of achievement and competence becomes paramount, and during this sensitive period, fear of being undervalued may provide a basis for the development of anxiety (Erikson, 1991, 1995; Cole és Cole, 2006) Inappropriate study habits, poor performance on previous tests, and underlying forms of anxiety stemming from the individual’s personality can all contribute to the experience of test anxiety in performance situations.
