Abstract

For the development of the different components of the social competence there are quite few reliable national improvement programmes available for teachers. For the promotion of a positive change in the social problem solving only foreign practices, ex-periments and programmes are known. The basic condition of working out the pro-grammes is the profound knowledge of the characteristics of the desired future to devel-op components. In order to have a shorter programme available for us, in the school year of 2014-2015 we conducted an experiment for five months, including 118 pupils- with pre- and post-measurement, and with a control group. Our aim was to develop both problem solv-ing and cooperation integrated in the school subject among pupils of the 2nd grade. Through „What's the problem?" and location and person specific problem solving re-vealed by measuring devices, problem definition, ways of solving the problem and the development of different forms of cooperation in order to solve the problem were im-proved using Science subject
