Abstract
Storyline is not limited to entertainment, but can also be used as an effective teaching method in a language classroom environment This study is devoted to the experimental learning using Storyline approach for 10 year old students of the Practise School of Eszterhazy Károly University in Eger. A story setting in magic context has been designed and the target skills assigned to the whole story have been defined in modules. The results of experimental learning in a group of primary students will be presented and the impact of the Storyline methodology on different components of communicative compe-tence and problem solving skills development will be analysed. Finally some pedagogical implications for more effective teaching will be suggested.
