Abstract
The reading competition was once a correspondent competítíon originatíng from the desk of an enthusiastic teacher. In 2006, only a few schools from Kaposvár applied for the „game". Thanks to the well-chosen books, the adequate tasks, the financial support and the média, nowadays there are 70-100 teams who compete against each other. The competition lasts throughout the whole school year. Within this period, three pieces of contemporary children's literature have to be read and the relevant task sheets have to be completed. The teams who gain the most scores, can compete in the final at the end of the school year. At this final, the students can always meet a very famous person, usually the writer or translator of one of the books, who is invited to the event. The competition changed a little bit in January 2011, when the correspondent competition was transformed into an online competition. The University Library of the Kaposvár University made the Moodle e-learning system available for the scene of our online competition... In my presentation, I am going to introduce this competition which has been existing for 11 years so far.
