Abstract

The present article discusses the possibilities of social consciousness education among youngsters aged 14-18. Having examined a theoretic basis on the issue, a concrete example is presented in the form of a new state-accredited former education course for high school teachers. Recently social consciousness and sensibility have become more valuable and discussed. It turned out to be a key issue for achieving success both in personal and professional life. Such increased importance of social consciousness justifies its integration into school education. However, this integration also has some preconditions, such as high-quality teachers’ trainings and teachers trained in social consciousness education. Replying to this need, the professional team of Kathaz Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd has developed a 30-hours state-accredited former education course for high school teachers in the topic of social consciousness education. The course, based on teamwork, experimental learning, brainstorming techniques and regular reflection, gives concrete, useful and applicable knowledge for social consciousness education of high school students.
