Abstract

As a consequence of changed labour market processes, recruitment and retaining employees have become more important. Research of new generations has found that they are less loyal to their employers and have high expectations of their employers. We carried out an online survey to find out what students at the University of Debrecen think about the issue. The number of items in our study is 408 people. The results were in line with the findings of previous studies, that is, young people look for high salaries, work-life balance, good working conditions and career opportunities when choosing a job. However, based on our hypothesis test, we can state that the aspects of workplace choice are not primarily influenced by which generation they belong to. Choosing workplaces are much more influenced by factors such as gender, marital status, financial situation, or the sphere in which they want to work.
