Absztrakt

Between 10-12 November 1892 the theatre of Kolozsvár celebrated the centenary of local professional acting. This was the third celebration after the opening of the theatre in 1821 and its 50th anniversary in 1871, that had its focus on the institution itself. Based on unique sources from the archival documents of the theatre, one can retrace the process and context of creating the festive programme of the centenary. This connected the celebration to the two former ones, revealing the formation of a theatrical tradition.
