A magyar regény adatbázisa

Abstract

The article presents a novel database in progress. It argues that the database provides us with new information on novels emerging from the mass of data. The significance of the database is twofold. On the one hand, instead of the close reading approach it uses the distant reading technique. On the other hand, recording more data than the earlier bibliographies, the database offers a new insight into the corpus of the Hungarian novel. In addition, the article offers an annotated database record written in TEI-XML.
