Abstract
My paper proposes to supply new information concerning Albert Szenci Molnár's establishment in Translyvania. András Kiss found a letter in the archives of the Kemény family in Csombord, written by Erzsébet Bédi to his husband, János Keserűi Dajka. The document was composed in Gyulafehérvár (present-day Alba Iulia) in 1627, and reveals data which confirms that Albert Molnár's family was at that time staying at Erzsébet Bédi, while Molnár was in Kolozsvár (present-day Cluj), together with Keserűi. To date, scholarly literature has regarded 1629 as the year when Albert Szenci Molnár and his family moved to Transylvania, but in the light of this new document, the family had already been living there in 1627. The paper puts this new data in the proper context of previous research, offering a summary of Albert Molnár's time in Transylvania. Some questions concerning Albert Molnár's final decade are also posed.
