Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo académico es presentar el lugar y rol de América Latina como una región mundial en relaciones interregionales. América Latina –a nivel regional y estatal– tiene experiencias viejas y complejas de participación en interregionalismo, un elemento nuevo de gobernanza mundial. Después de una corta introducción al fenómeno del interregionalismo en general, el ensayo examina la vía latinoamericana de participación en cooperación inter-regional esforzándose en descubrir y describir las características especiales de la región.

Bernadett Lehoczki, Institute of International Studies, Corvinus University of Budapest

Bernadett Lehoczki is an associate professor at the Institute of International Relations, Corvinus University of Budapest (CUB). She earned her PhD in 2009 at the International Relations Multidisciplinary PhD Program at CUB, the title of her dissertation was ‘China and Latin America: a New System of Relations’ analysing the opportunities and challenges of China-Latin America relations in the framework of interregionalism. She teaches in BA, MA and PhD programs at Corvinus and has been a visiting professor in other Hungarian
universities. Lehoczki publishes regularly in Hungarian and English on Latin America’s place in the international system, Latin American regional organisations and relations with actors, such as the US or China. Currently, she is working on comparative articles analysing Latin America and Central Eastern Europe.
