Abstract
The following work reconstructs the history of the rural property known as San Antonio, situated in the province of Comala, North of Colima, in the West of Mexico. The property is located in a natural park known as Zona de Protección Forestal y Refugio de la Fauna Silvestre El Jabalí. The work describes the history of the place, with a methodology based on the research of primary sources, and then, at the end, looks upon the political controversies that have taken place regarding the participation of private foreign capital in this natural protected area of Mexico, with respect to the Bolivian businessman Antenor Patiño and the English financier James Goldsmith.
