Subcultural functioning: examples and effects in the inside discourses of an alternative high-school
Main Article Content
Abstract
My study belongs to the research field of ethnography of education or educational ethnography, the area of teachers, psychologists, and sociologists (called pedagogical ethnography by Mészáros, 2017). Inside this field, my study focuses on the anthropology of education, where mostly anthropologists are involved. The works in this disciplinary field along with my own can be characterized by applying participatory methods and interviews with open ended questions in order to gain a more insightful knowledge of different phenomena. Also, by using different cultural concepts and schools as a field for research (even though there are also other studies concerning education in different contexts).
